Unfortunately the official word from Openreach is that the Hill Farm estate is not currently being considered for fibre broadband as all the telephone lines are EO exchange only lines which means that the houses are connected to the Wemyss Bay exchange directly and not through a roadside cabinet. Openreach have not given me an explanation as to why they have built the box on Cullen Crescent when they cannot supply fibre broadband to about 200 houses in the Hill Farm estate.

Well we finally got fibre broadband this week….18 months after the fibre box was built in Cullen Crescent!

That’s interesting Alan, do you know what the change in response from BT was due to?

Have they upgraded the exchange for instance? I know many people up there are desperate for “FTTC” (Fibre-to-the-Cabinet), so that they can enjoy higher speed broadband.

Hi Robbo – you don’t say where the other people are but the whole of the Hill Farm estate appears to be FTTC enabled now. You can do a check on the Openreach availability check site – https://www.homeandwork.openreach.co.uk/fibre-broadband/superfast-fibre.aspx
you can then contact your service provider to order fibre broadband…its that easy. I got it a week after ordering.
